Write for us
We welcome considered pitches about southern geography and place: the landscapes, settlements, names, routes and regional edges that reward a closer look. Proposals are sent through the Contact page.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the geographic question, why it may interest a general reader and what distinct point your piece would explain. A focused idea with a clear scope is more useful than a broad promise to cover a whole region.
Useful approaches
We are interested in explainers, comparisons, geographic background and reader-friendly ways to interpret maps or place names. Keep the subject evergreen where possible, define specialist language and make clear what an example can and cannot show.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline and any relevant context about your proposed angle. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication.
Place makes more sense when you look closely
A map is a starting point, not the whole story. We connect visible patterns to the geographic ideas that help readers make sense of them.
